New here... |
|
Found this site after my dad dropped me an email about it. I'm known as Bassmaster on some of the other boards I belong to, but lately perch have been my target so I chose PerchHunter for here
Definetly not new to fishing.. been doing it since I was 5 well let's say that was a looooooooooong time ago!
Basically I fish around the Brantford, Hamilton and Niagara areas.. although I did get down to Port Bruce once this year prior to the derby and was just stunned at the size of the perch I hauled out!
Planning on coming down to Bruce next spring for the perch!

Howdy thanks for the welcome
As far as the Grand goes, things have been kinda slow around here mainly due to the that massive heat wave we had. Opening day for smallmouth was a bit on the lean side compared to previous years. Wilkes Dam here in Brantford gets a lot of pressure.. not the best place to be during the weekend.
That said prior to bass opener, I was getting panfish normally found in Waterford ( south of Brantford). There are plenty of accessible areas on the Grand between the dam and behind the Casino here. Minnows worms or leeches are the ticket.
How have things been in Woodstock? Haven't been there since pike opener

Seems like things have been slow have seen a few bass caught below the dam since opener and have only seen one pike caught in the past couple of weeks and he was caught just above the dam. Would have like to have spent more time down river from the dam this past weekend but with all the rain lately the mosquitos were so bad that we gave up
